The Project PREVENT Network surveyed 1,496 US healthcare personnel from 17 states who tested positive for COVID-19 between August 2022 and May 2024, at three and six months after illness. 11.3% reported persistent Long COVID symptoms at both time points. Older age, female sex, prior infection, and multiple comorbidities increased the odds of persistence, while clinical staff such as physicians, nurses, and therapists had lower odds than non-clinical personnel. The authors note implications for workforce sustainability, including accommodations, reduced hours, and modified roles.
