This peer-reviewed JAMA study, part of the NIH's RECOVER program, analyzed survey data from nearly 10,000 participants to identify 37 symptoms more common after SARS-CoV-2 infection and pinpointed 12 symptoms (including post-exertional malaise, fatigue, brain fog, and dizziness) that best distinguish long COVID. It also identified distinct symptom subgroups/clusters and proposed a scoring system to help standardize diagnosis for research and clinical use.
